Gay Brewer, Jr. Course @ Picadome

junior-golf18 holes, par 72, and 6272 yards. This facility formerly known as the Campbell House Country Club, was built in 1927 as the first public golf course in central Kentucky. The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government acquired it in 2000. This facility offers a fully stocked golf shop, banquet room, swimming pool, and grill. It is a challenging old style course with small undulating greens. Tree lined fairways with tight landing areas. Located within New Circle Road it offers a challenging and convenient golf get away.  Picadome is open year-round except for Christmas Day. The course opens for play 7:30 am until dusk. Tee times are reserved seven days in advance.

Kearney Hill Links

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe 18-hole, par 72 Kearney Hill is a premier public golf course, located in northwest Fayette County. Totally unlike any other golf course in the area, Kearney Hill Links has drawn rave reviews from golfers. It is a Scottish links-style course, characterized by open, rolling terrain, deep sand and grass bunkers and a few trees. The wind is a very important factor in playing the course. The multiple tee boxes challenge every skill level and range from 6,987 yards (Blue Tees) to 6,501 yards (White Tees) to 5,362 yards (Red Tees).

Kearney Hill Golf Links has had the privilege to host such events as the Senior PGA Tour, Celebrity Players Tour, PGA Junior Series, the 1998 Men’s United States Amateur Public Links Championship as well as many local and state championships. In 2007, this course will host the 2007 Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship.

The course was designed by famous golf course architects Pete and P.B. Dye, who have designed numerous unusual courses around the country, including the PGA West Stadium Course in Palm Springs, CA. the TPA at Sawgrass in Palm Beach, FL., and Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmal, IN. They now have added a Lexington landmark to their list of creative masterpieces.

Lakeside Golf Course

The 18-hole, par 72, course opened in July, 1970. Lakeside Golf Course is situated on approximately 185 acres, adjacent to Jacobson Park and Jacobson Lake. The facility includes a golf shop, snack bar and a driving range. The course is described as long and open with large greens and water hazards on three holes. Lakeside has the longest par 5 hole in the state of Kentucky at 651 yards. Each hole boasts mutliple tee boxes spanning from 7,061 yards on the blue tees to 6,274 yards on the red tees.

Meadowbrook Golf Course

golf-meadownbrookMeadowbrook is a fun 18 hole par 3 course located at the Meadowbrook Golf Course facility in Lexington, KY. From the longest tees it features 2,235 yards of golf for a par of 55. The course was designed by and opened in 1968. Meadowbrook is a municipal golf course with a ‘Open to Public’ guest policy. The course contact is Mike Fields, Director of Golf.

Tates Creek Golf Course

golf-tates-creekThe 18-hole, par 72 property and course were purchased by the city of Lexington in 1972. The course is located on 125 acres in the heart of Gainesway Subdivision. Each hole features multiple tee boxes ranging from 6,265 yardson the blue tees to 5,260 yards on the red tees. The The facility includes an aquatic center, a large banquet room and short game practice area. It also includes a golf shop and snack bar. The course is described as tight with sloping greens. There are water hazards on two holes.
